1940s Philippines Hand Carved & Embroidered Wooden Sandals. This stunning 1940s collectible tourist souvenir pair of shoes is something else! These shoes would make the perfect gift for any vintage shoe collector/ enthusiast! It features meticulous hand carved, embroidered & painted tropical floral motifs that are so unique! A lettering of the word "Philippines" can be found at the top of the shoe and embroidered on velvet near the top/ front. The straps are lined with a soft leather with a black velvet material outside. The shoes are made of a sturdy wood and carved as houses and palm trees at the heel. The straps thread through the buckle but for some reason do not have punched loop holes to fasten the strap to the wearer. There are a few areas of wear to the wood & paint around the bottom & sides. (Please see photos) This pair of shoes are in great vintage condition and sold As-Is.
